Your login page is where you go to access the admin area of your website. Once logged in, you can see your dashboard, create/update your posts pages, manage your theme and add plugins, and make other customizations to your site.

On a typical WordPress site, all you need to do is add /login/ or /admin/ to the end of your site’s URL.

 

For example if your website URL is MyWebSite.com. Your login URL will be:

 

MyWebSite.com/login/

 

or

 

MyWebSite.com/admin/

 

Both URLs will take you to your login page where you can enter your username and password. Once logged in, you will be taken directly to the dashboard of your site.

You can check your email using webmail or setting up your own email client to manage your email.

For this tutorial, we will use the following information

Website url: MyWebsite.com

Email/Username: email@MyWebsite.com

Password: P@$w0rd

Logging in using Webmail

1. Visit MyWebsite.com/webmail

(Be sure to replace MyWebsite.com with your actual domain name.)

2. Enter your  full email address as your username and enter the password for your account, and then click OK.

User Name: email@MyWebsite.com
Password: P@$w0rd

3. You will now be logged in. Click on one of the three webmail clients and begin using your email.

Setting up your own email client

Each email client is different in its layout and functionality, there is still a basic set of information that the email client will need. Below are your email settings.

Non SSL email settings

The following settings are the non Secure settings. Use this only if you cannot use the SSL settings. Otherwise, you will want to use the SSL setup. Note that you will need to change “MyWebSite.com” to your domain name.

  • Incoming Server: mail.MyWebSite.com
  • Outgoing Server: mail.MyWebSite.com
  • Username: Your full e-mail address
  • Password: Your e-mail account password
  • Incoming Port: POP3 110 or IMAP 143
  • Outgoing Mail server (SMTP) Port: 587
  • SSL: NO
  • SMTP Authentication Required
  • Secure Authentication or SPA needs to be turned off

SSL email settings

Below is an example of the recommended Secure settings. The SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) protocol is for connecting to your server securely.

  • Incoming Server: mail.MyWebSite.com
  • Incoming Port: POP3 995 or IMAP 993
  • Outgoing Server: mail.MyWebSite.com
  • Outgoing Mail server (SMTP) Port: 465
  • Username: Your full e-mail address
  • Password: Your e-mail account password
  • SSL: YES
  • SMTP Authentication Required
  • Secure Authentication or SPA needs to be turned off
